Frequently Asked Questions

If you need further information have questions not included in this section, please feel free to call us at 512-795-9950. We're happy to help!

Q Will you bill my insurance?
A Due to the vast amount and types of healthcare offerings available today, we do not bill insurance carriers. At checkout, we will provide you with a receipt of your payment and a statement of services. These items will include all the information generally necessary to submit a claim to an insurance carrier.

Q How long will my appointment take?
A It depends on the services your doctor has requested. We believe that your time is valuable and have streamlined our process to best serve you. In most cases, we will have you on your way in 30 minutes.

Q What exactly is imaging?
A As it pertains to the technology used in our facility, images are x-rays that are captured on a sensor rather than film. The images captured on the sensor are downloaded onto a computer workstation. They are in digital form.

Q Is digital better?
A Yes, for several reasons. Much less radiation is required to capture an image on a sensor rather than to expose conventional x-ray film. This means less exposure for the patient. Digital images have more clarity and can be enlarged and rotated. This allows doctors a better view of a patient's anatomy. Also, we can provide an unlimited number of original images from a single visit. This is unlike the clarity of conventional x-ray film duplicates, which degrade with each generation.

Q Is this safe?
A In referring you to our facility, your doctor shows great regard for your health and well-being! Although there is always some exposure associated with a radiographic survey, your doctor feels that the detailed diagnostic benefits will outweigh the minimal exposure.

Q How are these x-rays different than the ones that my dentist or doctor takes?
A We are able to provide all the images your doctor and dentist can and more. We offer traditional views in digital forms, as well as a state of the art 3D scanner designed specifically for the head. Traditional views include periapical, bitewing, full mouth, panoramic, and cephalometric surveys. In addition, digital diagnostic photography is available. Having all these services in one place allows your doctor more time to do what he does best -- -- care for you!

Q What do I need to bring to my appointment?
A Please bring your prescription, signed by your doctor. Payment is due at the time of your visit. Payment can be made in cash, personal check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or debit card. If you would like an estimate of your cost prior to your visit, please call us. We're happy to help.

Q How long will it take for my records to get to my doctor?
A In most cases, the images will be in your doctor's hand within two business days. If your doctor requires your records sooner, please let us know.

Q What type of certification does your staff and facility have?
A Our facility and equipment has been registered and inspected by the Texas Department of Health. Our equipment undergoes daily, weekly, and annual quality checks. The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and the Texas Department of Health certify our technologists, in addition to many years of experience in dentistry and radiology.
